Descriptions of four new species of Dorylaimida (Nematoda)

Abstract

Four new species of dorylaimid nematodes are described and illustrated. Mesodorylaimus cameroonensis sp. n. from Cameroon has body 1.20-1.34 mm long, lip region offset by slight depression, ÇdoubleÈ guiding ring, odontostyle 14-15 mm long, transverse vulva, cuticle posterior to vulva with slight irregularities, and characteristic shape of spicules and lateral guiding pieces. Thornenema spicatum sp. n. from India has body 0.6 mm long; abruptly narrowed, bottle-shaped anterior region with amalgamated lips; odontostyle 7.5-8.5 mm long; genital system mono-opisthodelphic with anterior uterine sac less than one anal body width long, and spicate tail. Talanema nicaraguaense sp. n. from Nicaragua has body 1.58-1.88 mm long, offset lip region, odontostyle 23-27 mm long, transverse vulva, and short conoid tail. Calolaimus indicus sp. n. has body 3.4-3.9 mm long, odontostyle 7-8 mm long, pre-equatorial vulva, elongate conoid tail, and male with twelve ventromedian supplements.
