Resumen

Hemicycliophora popaensis sp. n. is described and figured from a fern below the Popa falls in Namibia. This species is characterized by the females having a loose outer cuticle with 324-401 flattened annuli; lateral field predominantly a break in the striae and cuticle with faint scratch marks. Male with an areolated lateral field with three lines, and tail 246- 297 mm long. Fourth stage male juvenile lacks stylet, with a degenerate oesophagus, and lateral field a break in striae with traces of a three-lined lateral field in bursal region. Measurements and illustrations are given for H. labiata Colbran, 1960. Hemicriconemoides cocophillus (Loos, 1949) Chitwood & Birchfield, 1957 and Criconemoides incisus Raski & Golden, 1966 which were found in the same sample, and are all new records for Namibia. Males of Criconema pacificum (Andrssy, 1965) Raski & Luc 1985 are described for the first time, this being the first report of this species from Rwanda. SEM photographs are given for H. popaensis sp. n., H. labiata, H. cocophillus and C. pacificum.
