Abstract

The objective of this article is to study the pedagogical and sports models designed to promote the acquisition of values ​​in the field of team sports, based on the fundamental premise that young sports must balance three essential needs: athletic performance, inclusive participation, and the comprehensive personal development of young athletes. In this context, the concept of values ​​is understood as those shared characteristics that guide the thoughts, feelings, and actions of individuals, facilitating coexistence and cooperation within society. These values ​​can be classified into two main categories: instrumental values, which can serve both positive and negative purposes, and ultimate or ethical values, which are intrinsically oriented toward goodness and justice. The study analyzes in detail various pedagogical and sports models that actively promote the acquisition of values. These models employ various pedagogical strategies, such as the assignment of specific roles within the team, the establishment of clear objectives, and the systematic planning of values ​​teaching. The methodology employed is based on a literature review and the analysis of different sports-pedagogical programs and models. The results of the analysis underscore the critical importance of intentional and structured planning for values ​​development within sports programs, as well as the significant potential of adapted competition as a powerful tool for fostering personal growth and the internalization of positive values ​​in young athletes. In conclusion, the study emphasizes that sports programs must explicitly and thoughtfully integrate values ​​development into their objectives and methodologies, and that competition, when appropriately adapted to the formative stages, can become a valuable tool for values ​​education and the holistic development of young athletes.
