The defensive system in Islamic times of Alcaudete (Jaén)

This study presents the results of the archaeological research undertaken during the restoration works of the medieval castle of Alcaudete, a solid fortress of the Almohad period which played an important role on these outer limits of the frontier area between the kingdoms of Castille and Granada. We have been able to trace the historical evolution of the various elements of this defensive system, allowing a better understanding of their internal organization and of each of its structural components.
