Las publicaciones sobre castillos y fortalezas son extra- ordinariamente numerosas en nuestro país y han ido creciendo continuamente, cubriendo una amplia variedad de campos, aunque por lo general suelen abarcar ámbitos territoriales concretos (municipios, comarcas, provincias, o en los últimos años comunidades autónomas), posiblemente porque es casi la única forma de conseguir fondos que financien las investigaciones o la publicación resultante. La presente obra se centra en la Comunidad de Castilla y León. Ello produce el inevitable problema de fragmentación de un espacio, fragmentación que no existió en el pasado, ya que las ideas sobre la fortificación circularon ampliamente, problema que los autores reconocen, aunque concluyen que en este caso el propósito que emprenden es viable...
