Política y Arqueología: ¿dependencia?

En los pocos años que han transcurrido de esta década he tenido ocasión de plantear en dos lugares algunos de los problemas y perspectivas de la arqueología medieval andaluza. La primera de esas ocasiones fue con motivo del Coloquio Hispano-Italiano de Arqueología Medieval, celebrado en Granada el mes de abril de 1990, mientras que la segunda fue un año después, en el Primer Seminario de Historia Medieval, organizado por la Universidad de Zaragoza, bajo el título de “Avances recientes en la historia de al-Andalus: arqueología y sociedad”.
En el primer caso, tras una revisión histórica, trataba de encontrar las causas de lo que consideraba como una situación de marginalidad a nivel académico, y, por otra parte, exponía los posibles errores en los que podía incurrir una práctica que estaba saliendo de esa marginalidad pero que se encontraba en una etapa incial, y por ello los errores podían estar justificados, aunque era el momento adecuado para intentar atajarlos.
