Farmhouse of Purchena (Chucena, Huelva)

In this work we present the results of the archaeological survey carried out the andalusian settlement of Los Cascos (Chucena, Huelva), that we have iden tified with the medieval depopulated village of Purchena. After the study of the archaeological materials and the revision of the late-medieval documentation on the zone, we propose that the muslim alqueria (farmhouse) was populated after the sharing out of Seville and definitively abandonment in 15th century, due to the process of implantation of lordships in the sevillian Aljarafe.
