De la "a" a la "az". Estudio de las anomalías formales del texto en español del Cambridge Dictionary Online (English-Spanish/Spanish-English)

En el presente trabajo, se analiza el texto en español de las entradas correspondientes a la letra “A” de las partes English-Spanish y Spanish-English del Cambridge Dictionary Online, en función de los siguientes tipos de anomalías formales: mayúscula, puntuación, diseño, acento ortográfico, espacio, errata de no palabra (ENP) y errata de palabra (EP). Los resultados en términos de incidencia y ubicación de los tipos/subtipos de anomalías demuestran el carácter sistemático de los defectos y reclaman una acción correctora acorde, bajo la premisa de una revisión integral. Más allá del análisis de las anomalías, se abordan aspectos relacionados con la calidad lexicográfica como: a) la posible relación entre los defectos y los métodos (manual, automatizado o semiautomatizado) de introducción de datos; b) el difícil acomodo entre la productividad y la calidad en un contexto de creciente complejidad en que la tecnología o el uso que se hace de ella sigue provocando desajustes; c) la colaboración de los usuarios en la introducción y revisión del contenido lexicográfico; y d) el efecto perjudicial que las imágenes publicitarias pueden tener en los usuarios de los diccionarios en línea gratuitos.
