Abstract

To provide another overview of the history of urban infrastructure, this study reconciles aspects of those professionals and foreign construction companies, with emphasis on those of German origin, who were linked to the development of sanitation works in the River Plate region.

The analysis focuses on the Rio de la Plata, following the technological changes that took these cities since the mid-nineteenth century to the early part of the twentieth century; documentation of the research comes from the CEDODAL and its link with Project Heritage of water supply in the city of Buenos Aires.
