Literatura oral argelina: reflexión sobre un proceso de traducción / Algerian oral literature: a reflection on a translation process
Keywords:
Boqala, Algerian feminine oral tradition, oral tradition.Abstract
The translation process into Spanish of a few poems from an Algerian feminine oral tradition known by the name boqala, implies a first phase consisting in the transcription of the poems in Algerian Arabic, a language that is not definitively regulated and that is quite different from classical Arabic, and a second phase, the translation per se, which needs to respect the tone, the rhythm and the rhymes of the verses so as to transmit to the Spanish reader/listener all the symbolic and emotional charge received by the Algerian native who listens to this poetry in his original language.
