Federico Garcia Lorca introduces nursery rhymes in his plays, and he refers to these songs in other plays. His interest in retaking these songs was evident from his childhood and, indeed, already in during his adolescence he recorded and rewrote popular poetry. Much of the inspiration for his poetry comes from the popular tradition.
