The Urco in Galicia and Asturias: analysis and characterisation

It is proposed an exhaustive analysis of Urco in Galicia and Asturias. For this purpose, it is based on information derived from field research, accounts recorded in different bibliographic works and the search of press articles from the 19th century to the present. Also, it is studied traditions mistakenly associated with Urco and it is reviewed the main interpretations formulated for its origin and meaning. Finally, a new hypothesis is proposed to understand it.
