Traditional versería versus new cultural practices

In the son of Western Mexico, the malagueñas, once one of the traditional genres to sing new coplas, have been reduced to a single son, with a set of associated verses that has nothing to do with the exuberance that it showed in other times. In this case, we know that the creation of new coplas is very rare nowadays, and that improvisation is practically non-existent, unlike what happens in sones from other regions. This leads us to the question: why has a genre that in the past was so fruitful in the production of coplas ceased to be productive?
