Abstract

Beyond the interpretation of colonization as a political-administrative domination of one territory by another, it also operates on a cultural level, in the production of knowledge and in the recognition that societies may have of themselves and of the world. Thus, decolonial theory, postcolonial studies, Epistemologies of the South problematize and question the tradition of social sciences that reproduce hegemonic views from Western thought centers. In this interview, Javier García Fernández, with his theoretical contributions to decolonial studies in southern Europe and specifically in Andalusia, reflects on the processes of anti-colonial, anti-racist and anti-capitalist rebellion and resistance. He also invites us to question the myth of a totally homogeneous Europe, white and the center of the world.
