Abstract

This article analyses the integration of ChatGPT-4 in language teaching, highlighting its potential to enhance interaction and communicative practice. A training workshop was developed for teachers, emphasizing the need for proper preparation so that teachers can effectively incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into the educational process. A preliminary questionnaire, completed by 56 teachers from the International University of La Rioja, revealed their perceptions and the degree of AI implementation in their teaching practice, as well as the need for specific training. The workshop content was adapted to assist teachers who were not using AI tools and were at risk of becoming outdated. The workshop focused on the instructional technique of prompting and on the possibilities of collaborative work
between teachers and AI, applying it to aspects such as generating conversational practices, creating and adapting teaching materials, solving doubts, and providing feedback.
