INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT ANALYSIS OF LOCAL PRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the recent evolution of industrial employment in the context of local industrialization experiences (Local Productive Systems (LPS) present in the region of Castilla y León.
For this purpose, after describing the current structure of industrial employment in Castilla y León and the main features of the LPS, the paper offers a detailed examination of the evolution of industrial employment in such areas during the period 2001-2011. This analysis is based on shift-share statistical technique, by using data from the General Treasury of Social Security about employment and productive establishments. It allows to observe the uneven gait experienced in employment by the municipalities under study and the different industrial activities, among which is particularly interesting, despite the economic crisis, the agrofood industry.
