Abstract

Questions concerning the study of spiritual values and folk creativity in relation to the adaptation to modernity in the context of forming a shared poetic unity and examining patterns of artistic development became increasingly important and among the most relevant. The aim of the study was to explore the unique phenomenon of Kazakh, Uzbek, and Turkish culture – the poetic duel of aqyns – to define its main forms and features that distinguished it from other types of oral literature, to determine the influence of modern technologies on it, as well as the possible consequences of such an impact. The comparison of the cultural heritage of the mentioned countries was justified by the common affiliation of these peoples to Turkic civilisation. During the research, descriptive, typological, and comparative-historical methods were applied. The main result of the research was the substantiation of the position that the poetic duel of aqyns not only did not lose its significance for the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people but also managed to adapt to new social, political, and economic realities. This was evidenced by the fact that the poetic duel of aqyns had not undergone changes in either its content or its manner of performance. However, at the same time, it proved to be sufficiently flexible and adaptive in terms of the transformation of its forms. This was directly confirmed by the emergence of its new forms that spread through social media and virtual platforms. The practical value of the study consisted, firstly, in its potential to serve as a foundation for further academic exploration in the specified field, and secondly, in the way its results helped forecast the pathways of poetic creativity of aqyns in the context of digitalisation and globalisation of the world and society.
