Anejo 6 (2021): María Jaén Castaño, Literature and the culture of oral tradition in the region of El Barco de Ávila-Piedrahíta (Ávila, Spain)

The corpus presented in this book distinguishes itself from other collections made in the region because it includes practically all genres of oral literature and because of the systematic and rigorous way in which the survey and the philological editing of the texts have been carried out, which includes linguistic, ethnographic and social information that is necessary to understand the cultural context in which they are embedded.

            The corpus is accompanied by the study of a selection of texts that enhances the value and the wealth of recorded materials, with identification of sources and concordance with other versions and with reference to national and international catalogues of oral literature. There is also a glossary.
