Abstract
The critical standpoints of the so called scientific paradigm of modernity stem, to a large degree, from under the protective wing of the new historic lectures, among which a review of
the consequences of Colonisation and of the perception that disciplines such as Anthropology or the history of mentalities have had of the exotic and distant ‘others’, play an important role. This critical standpoint coincides with various phenomena, at times contradictory among themselves: the philanthropy of acting organizations in the Third World; the indolence of governments and institutions of the Western World; the tension between forms of capitalism and the need for balanced resources…
