Abstract

This paper analyzes the implications in terms of gender and socioeconomic inequalities generated by the cultural acceptance and practice of assisted reproduction procedures,
particularly those involving the donation procedures and reception of reproductive material.
I argue that the egg donation procedures are only possible in a context of gender inequality and economic partner that assisted reproductive technologies deepened. Changes in cultural meanings and practices in this field reproduce these structures of domination. This allow this to state that the cultural significance of the reproductive capacity of women is the biggest obstacles to achieving full citizenship by them.
