Symbolism social body: Body art (Some examples)

Abstract

The body like a territory charged with representations, is where cultural images are construct and deconstruct, where we can note the space and time and where signs of idendity are
proyected, construct the central axis of this article. In art, far from remain foreing to the changes of it´s social structure, provoked by the social dramas that Victor Turner describes,
acompanies this social and anthropological fenomenom that meant a turn on the meaning of the body, passing this to being only a representation object to construct itself in a tool, a suport and material of artistic practices. It produces then, what we could consider a change of paradigm of the body in art. The body becomes the foundation of revindications, a tool
of comunications of ideals and a priviledge protest vehicle of provocation to the service of freedom of expression.
