Abstract

This article aims to provide the main results of a research carried out in the granadian neighborhood of Albaizín about the (in)security. In discussions we usually start from a
cursory conceptual reduction. To the reduce the security to physical security (citizen), without connected it with “other securities” (economic, social, politics...) compresses the space of debate and not be seen beyond the simple “fear of crime”, that is really what is usually referred to when speaking of insecurity, without connecting to the actual conditions and lifestyles. So our research has focused on the social construction of (in) security by social actors in a given
context, the Albayzín. The existing power relations in the neighborhood will be crucial to understanding how a discourse has been institutionalized in the (in) security held by certain
groups against other subaltern discourses.
