Abstract

In this paper we highlight different phenomena that occur patrimonialization around hunting. It is, on the one hand, active processes in the economic sphere, showing hunting as environmentally sustainable business activity. While on the other hand, in the field of culture, the game is presented as a “cultural asset” in itself that must be preserved. Both processes
are central to the explanation and justification of the status of hunting within environmental policies at the national, regional and local as allowing us to see it as a field of political dispute.
