Abstract

The concern about the role of anthropology has promoted my interest in studying contemporary science. But anthropological research of this object in turn forwards to the reflection on the
place of anthropology in today’s world. This article then begins with a review of the proposals on the anthropology of the contemporary world of Gérard Althabe and Marc Augé. After
presents ongoing research aimed at examining the processes of production, appropriation and use of scientific knowledge on the part of various actors in the Argentine context. This
presentation gives an account of the variety of dimensions and characteristics of science and the modern world in this particular scenario. We conclude with a reflection on the place of the anthropology in the study this reality.
