Abstract

This article discusses concepts of culture and cultural heritage, and new uses that both experiment in a global context. Regarding this, it is compiled and compares the number of
current legal figures of protection raised in the last two decades in the Spanish legislation for that cultural heritage considered more properly “anthropologic” (that is to say, ethnographic,
ethnologic, popular or traditional). It is suggested that one anthropological contribution to this topic consists of the study of local participating processes on using and negotiating with this
type of cultural heritage.
