Reflections on a job in the fields of Níjar. in the fiftieth anniversary of campos de Níjar of Juan Goytisolo
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of the book Campos de Níjar of Juan Goytisolo. This will be done in two ways: first, we place the book in a more general framework which is that of the travel books; on the other hand, try to reread it in anthropological key. From an anthropological point of view, first, we reflect on
ethnographic authority and the web of influences and interests that weigh in the description of people who we feel “different”, and secondly, we explain the changes in Goytisolo´s writings
during the sixties linking them to subsequent rise of the “Postmodern Anthropology”.
