Abstract

The management of photography as an anthropological field recording is part of the production of a type of representation whose reflexive dimension interacts with technical, technological, scientific and personal issues. This article examines the anthropological view behind the production of a photographic archive generated in the framework of a project of archeology y anthropology in Uruguay, to discuss the construction of the representation of the field. The conclusions call into question the indiscriminate use of photography in the field y the consequences this may have on the production of anthropological knowledge
