Abstract

Tourism is an economic phenomenon, social, cultural that today, has become globally important. In this way, it has been building a global code, where the meanings of what to see and admire have been internationalized, which fall into various forms of discourse, with the tourist guides being one of the most important items. The historical-political events, which account for the national development of a country, we speak of various confrontations and fights between individuals or groups who have political action to achieve administrative and social life, all located in the correlations of strength and power in certain historical moments. These events are listed in the tourist guidelines, however, are only the summary of the official history of a nation, and have as main features: fragmentation, de-contextualization and heroism. These will be illustrated in Mexican travel books.
