Ethical and methodological dilemmas in the field work. Reflections of an anthropologist

Authors

  • Chiara Cerri CSIC (España)

Abstract

The article is a contribution to the reflection about the ethical and methodological dilemmas that appear during the ethnographic fieldwork. Through personal experience, the author wonders about the implications of gender in access to information and reflects about the limits between professional and personal matters, and the balance between the needs of research and
the needs of research subjects: how these dilemmas affect the production of knowledge and how, at the same time, are the result of interpretation that the researcher makes when emerge
these dilemas.
