Abstract

The gender based violence is growing problem for all societies of the world. Today, the gender based violence caused more death and handicap among the women of ages 15 to 44 than the death causes by the diseases like cancer, malaria or death cause by transit accident or war. In Mexico, one in every five women suffers from violence from their partner. According to data given by INEGI (2007), around 40 percent women have suffered any kind of violence from their partner. With the time, the gender based violence in Mexico has increased, which implies a higher cost not only to the woman who suffer from violence, but also to her family, society and to state. This violence also has direct cost on women”s health and in her life etc. So, the present study explain the actual scenario of gender based violence in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico to formulate some new public policies and strategies to combat this social problem.
