Abstract

This article has as intention to contribute and to reflect about the masculine identity and its forms, culturally speaking, as we men are socially instructed in the scripts in the hetero/sexuality in an urban context. This text is based upon a no entirely finished fieldwork as part of my final exam at Universidad de Chile. With the scene of the sexual identity and with its multiple actors as background, what is the roll of cafe with legs, as a specific cultural phenomenon, as a socializing element of the masculine identity? Is it merely a merchandising product where the feminine identity only constitutes in the advertising and exotic element? This and other questions are part of the intention to consider here the history of which this phenomenon only plays a part of that contemporary archaeology of the Chilean male identity.
