Abstract

We will analyze in this paper the digital lives of young Westerners connected to the internet. We will pay attention to the role of communication and new information technologies in contemporary society and particularly in the youth field, as well as to the techno-political reappropriation by these young people in the context of networked social movements: Arab springs, 15M, #YoSoy132... We will think about digital lives from the point of view of citizen participation and we will describe a culture of network participation forged between streets and social networks, where communication is the first and very often the most contested resource.
