Abstract

This research aimed to explore the experiences of migration, integration, and work of Venezuelan migrant women in Mexico City. I did 24 interviews in virtual semi-structured sessions between December 2021 and February 2022, for which I used an interview guide. The women's narratives were analyzed through the analysis of reflective themes. All of them were between 23 and 45 years of age, had at least a degree and arrived in Mexico by air. Even when they mostly have characteristics of qualified migrants, these women have various difficulties regarding work and migration, which translate into multilevel challenges, such as discrimination based on being foreigners or the accent with which they speak. Also, they had various documentation problems, as their immigration status changes over time. Access to health is related to work and documentation.
