This research aims to present a description around the contacts of the Brazilian and Venezuelan people, considering from the initial contacts to the Venezuelan migration boom in recent years. Methodologically, we made a bibliographical approach through researches that report the main linguistic phenomena and their occurrences when contact between peoples, especially the works done in South America, such as Elizaincín, Behares and Barrios (1987) and Couto (2009), seeking to know always occur within the borders. The theoretical basis of this work goes through the concepts of the main linguistic phenomena that can occur during language contact and also the specificities of the contact situations of the Brazil-Venezuela border, considering that this region has always been geographically closer to both border cities than specifically. of the great centers of their nations. The results show that some linguistic phenomena have always been present during this contact between Venezuelans and Brazilians and that other phenomena are in full development and occurrence being influenced and / or exacerbated by the ecology of the region, perceived by the concept of Ecolinguistics.
