The construction of identity of Venezuelan women in situation of forced displacement in Brazil

This article analyzes the construction of the identity of two Venezuelan women in situations of forced displacement (Hall, 1992), based on the transcription of the interviews carried out in the documentary: Adelante: The struggle of Venezuelan refugees in Brazil. The interviewees describe the path taken to the city of Boa Vista in Roraima, the circumstances that determined the forced displacement, the feeling of belonging (Deschamps and Moliner, 2009) of the identity of a Venezuelan woman, and the dream they want to achieve in a foreign country. Considering that narratives serve to reaffirm, build and project ideas and project certainties, (Santos, 2013) the discourse produced by these Venezuelan women produced meanings in the construction of their identity processes in Brazil (Mishler, 2002). The description of her oral narratives as one of the instruments of constituting herself individually and as a group, taking place the identity affirmation of Venezuelan women is my object of research.
