Author Guidelines

Here you can download the instructions for authors.

  1. Manuscripts submitted to the Revista de Estudios Empresariales for publication should be original works not previously published or accepted for publication or currently under review in any other Journal.
  2. In order to send a manuscript to the Journal, all its authors must first register as authors in the Journal website (http://revistaselectronicas.ujaen.es/REE), including the ORCID code on a mandatory basis. They can then send the manuscript to the Journal via the website (http://revistaselectronicas.ujaen.es/REE). We accept Word or rtf files in any version, as long as the manuscript complies with the manuscript submission rules. We cannot accept documents in pdf or similar formats as they make the layout of the manuscript more difficult.
  3. The first page of the work should contain the title of the article, the abstract (maximum 250 words), keywords (maximum 5), and the 2-digit JEL classification. All this information should be given in both Spanish and English. The author(s) of the work must not be mentioned in the main body of the text, either explicitly or implicitly.
  4. The article should be no longer than 25 pages, including charts, tables, figures, the References section and Appendices. Book reviews should not exceed 8 pages. The text should be single-spaced type-written, with side margins of 2.5cm. The typeface should be Times New Roman, size 12, normal. The title of the article should be size 14 and in upper case. The main headings should be size 12 and in upper case, and the minor headings should be in small case.
  5. The charts, tables, figures, etc., should not be inserted in the text, but placed at the end of the document, with their position in the text clearly indicated. They should be numbered consecutively, have a heading, and include sources if necessary. The Journal may ask the author(s) to send the original files of the charts, tables, figures, etc. But authors should not attach these files unless requested.
  6. Bibliographic references will go at the end of the article under the heading Bibliography, and will be structured according to the updated APA standards, including the DOI.
  7. References in the text or notes should cite the author or authors’ surname (in lower case), and in brackets the year and the page number if necessary.
  8. Notes should be numbered consecutively, go at the foot of the page and be single-spaced. They should be signalled in the text in superscript.
  9. Authors are encouraged to include sex and gender considerations where relevant. Authors should use the terms sex (biological attribute) and gender (shaped by social and cultural circumstances) with care to avoid confusing the two terms. Article titles and/or abstracts should clearly indicate to which sex or sexes the study applies. It is also recommended to describe in the background whether sex and/or gender differences are to be expected; to report how sex and/or gender have been taken into account in the study design; to provide sex and/or gender disaggregated data, where appropriate; and to discuss the respective results.
