Turismo y desarrollo sostenible. El caso de Punta Umbría
Abstract
En este artículo se analiza las relaciones que se establecen entre el turismo y el desarrollo sostenible, destacando la temprana aplicación de este nuevo paradigma a la actividad turística. También se destaca la importancia que tiene la Agenda Local 21 como instrumento para poner en marcha procesos de desarrollo sostenible. Por último, se analiza la metodología seguida en la elaboración de la Agenda Local 21 de Punta Umbría -Huelva-, destacando el papel que se le ha dado, fundamentalmente por parte de la ciudadanía, a la actividad turística como estrategia para acometer un proceso de desarrollo sostenible de este municipio. En este sentido, exponemos los principales proyectos que surgen de las líneas estratégicas propuestas que están más directamente relacionadas con la actividad turística.
ABSTRACT
Present paper analyzes the applications of sustainability paradigm in the tourism and the connection between tourism and sustainable development. It analyzes the importance of the Local Agenda 21 in the sustainable development too. It finally analyzes the applications of Local Agenda 21 in the Punta Umbria municipality and the tourism importance in this process.
