Abstract

Happiness is a natural emotion in human nature. Its importance in the organization is an important issue due, also, to the recent major changes in the economy and markets in Portugal and Europe.

This study develops a theoretical review on happiness, discusses the relevance and topicality in the current social, political and economic environment, in which, organizations have a greater need to understand how to keep employees happy without increasing costs.

At the end is proposed a scale to measure organizational happiness, developed through qualitative (content analysis) and quantitative methods (correlation analysis, reliability and factorial).
