Abstract

In this work is analyzed the hypothesis proposed by researchers of the Max Planck Institute in 2003, about the use of cloth and the timing of this fact in the human evolution using the body lice. These authors do not considered some important aspects about the evolution of lice, the segregation of species, the lineage in the family group and the ecological constraints that influenced the lice association with the weaving activity of the man. Several mistakes are present in the analysis of the context proposed by these authors. The parasitological characters are highly informative but we need a clear landscape of the evolution and phylogeny of both groups lice and man for the correct inference, otherwise mistakes are very common.
