Abstract

This study stems from a bibliographic study, which addresses the conceptual issues present in school culture, which resulted in a brief exploratory field study in a municipal school in the city of Manaus, where observations and informal interviews were carried out with school staff, as well as the indigenous children who study at the school and form part of the community. Its main objective is to understand how school processes develop in terms of culture and the school-indigenous relationship. In order to do this, resources were used to record the words of those interviewed, which provided a better understanding of these relationships based on what each one had to say about what they thought and how they saw themselves within the school process. It can be argued that school culture through indigenous culture highlights an epistemological and methodological dilemma neglected in school practice as a whole, resulting from a conflict generated by differences.
