El presente artículo consiste en una investigación realizada en dos colegios rurales de la provincia de Jaén, concretamente, en el segundo ciclo de educación infantil. A través de varias técnicas e instrumentos diversos, hemos comprobado las ideas previas que los niños poseen acerca de la estructura corporal; después, sobre estos datos, se ha elaborado una reflexión sobre dicho tema, teniendo en cuenta las directrices que la legislación actual recoge sobre este asunto. De esta forma y poniendo en evidencia que, a su llegada al centro, los alumnos ya poseen los conocimientos y el nivel establecido por la legislación vigente, esto obliga a docentes y profesionales de la enseñanza a profundizar acerca de este tema, más allá de los objetivos marcados por las leyes actuales.
