Evaluación versus calificación

El artículo que aquí se presenta pretende diferenciar y enfrentar los conceptos de evaluación y calificación. Para ello se definen ambos conceptos, aludiendo a algunas de las principales implicaciones educativas que ambas prácticas tienen. Se describe cómo la práctica de calificar persigue la ilusión de medir el aprendizaje bajo el paraguas del control, la selección y la clasificación. Mientras que la de evaluar, se pone al servicio del aprendizaje y por lo tanto al análisis de los procesos y los contextos que tienen lugar en la vida del aula.
Se concluye exponiendo que existe una importante confusión terminológica que a menudo dificulta la diferenciación, tanto teórica como práctica, de ambos conceptos.
