Abstract

This article analyzes the main environmental opportunities that the Valencian textile industrial
district will have to face in the coming years. For this purpose, first-hand data has been collected
through a questionnaire carried out both with the environmental consultancy firms in the area,
and with a sample of companies that belong to the industrial district. The information has been
supplemented with interviews with textile industrial managers, collecting their views on how
sustainability issues are addressed in their organizations. The results provide evidence about
the environmental services already covered in the area, as is the case of the management of
environmental procedures, as well as others in which more efforts are needed to disentangle if
they represent or not a market opportunity, as is the case of the management of water projects.
