Efectos de la ludoterapia en niños hospitalizados

Introducción: El juego permite a los niños descubrir, experimentar, aprender y enfrentar situaciones desafiantes como las que se plantean en una hospitalización infantil. El juego mejora la estancia hospitalaria del niño, y por tanto, eleva la calidad asistencial percibida por éstos. Objetivo: Realizar una revisión comparativa de estudios sobre el juego, las actividades lúdicas y su beneficio en el ámbito hospitalario pediátrico. Materiales y Método: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica exhaustiva sobre las publicaciones existentes entre 2016 y agosto del 2022 en diferentes bases de datos (PSYCINFO, CINHAL, MEDLINE, PUBMED y SCIELO), combinando las palabras claves con operadores booleanos AND y OR. Se obtuvieron un total de 40 artículos para esta revisión. Resultados: La revisión revela la importancia del juego para el desarrollo infantil en entornos hospitalarios. Se discuten beneficios, como la reducción de ansiedad y mejora de la comunicación. También se abordan avances tecnológicos y terapias alternativas. Discusión: Los estudios concuerdan entre ellos, enfatizando la importancia del juego para enfrentar aspectos estresantes de la hospitalización. Se destaca la relevancia de estrategias recreativas, como el uso de juguetes y la participación en actividades para mejorar la experiencia hospitalaria de los niños. Conclusiones: Se subraya la necesidad de integrar estrategias lúdicas en el cuidado pediátrico. Se destaca el papel crucial de la enfermería y se proponen acciones para superar desafíos, instando a traducir estos conocimientos en intervenciones prácticas y políticas concretas para mejorar la experiencia y el bienestar de los niños hospitalizados.
