Academic events in cultural management in Mexico as spaces for the socialization of disciplinary knowledge: settings and trends

This article aims to analyze the configurations and trends of academic events in cultural management in Mexico as spaces for socialization of disciplinary knowledge. The methodology of the exploratory study is a non-probabilistic quantitative sample whose sample was snowball using the documentary review technique for the collection, systematization, and analysis of content for analysis and interpretation. From the analysis of 108 events in the period between 1988 and 2023, we observe a growth of academic events and a diversification of their themes, modes, and forms of participation. The first events were promoted by government agencies with a training purpose and later the universities began to promote events whose purpose is the dissemination and scientific dissemination that implies the nomination of works. It is concluded that there is a correspondence between the growth of events and that of university training programs and research groups as part of the process of formalization and institutionalization of cultural management as a disciplinary field in Mexico.
