The transfer of cultural elements constitutes one of the major obstacles in the process of intercultural translation. In this article, under the categorization of culturemes and translation techniques proposed by Molina (2006), we locate in the poetry of Tang dynasty the cultural references of Bashu. The aim of this article is to analyze the different strategies in which these references have been translated and propose alternatives to overcome the cultural barriers in Chinese-Spanish translation, as well as to spread the literature and culture of Bashu in the Hispanic world.
