Mindfulness from artistic practice for the development of attention.

Artistic practice and mindfulness are deeply related; in both cases they provoke a development of full attention and an enjoyment of the here and now through contemplative states. Based on the above, we look into the benefits of using mindfulness practice integrated with the arts to achieve meaningful learning processes in educational contexts are explored. From the intervention with 2nd high school students, it is concluded that drawing from this approach improves information retention during a class related to the subject of Artistic Fundamentals.
