The experiential train learning and the new demands

Abstract

This paper analyses the potential of experiential learning as an innovative instructional intervention to address the current training and educational demands, focused on competency acquisition and lifelong learning. The specialized literature is reviewed, in order to characterize the main features associated with experiential learning and provide evidence for its educational benefits. Finally, an international initiative having a significant impact on the dissemination of outdoor learning is described.
