Abstract

Abstract:

In this article I start from “Caliban and the Witch”, the work of the Italian historian Silvia Federici, to point out a series of insufficiencies in the main theoretical paradigms around modernity and oppression. First, I address the modern figure of "the Witch" in relation to gender oppression, and then I delve into the figure of "Caliban" in relation to racial oppression. For this I use the work of the martinican author Frantz Fanon and some subsequent reinterpretations of it. I claim the invisible figure of the “Calibana” as a bridge to a more complex and decolonized theory of oppression.
