Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss the “15-M” or the “indignados” movement as an event, a singular political event, but also a machine made to generate future events. Thus, I will analyze the aesthetics of outrage, its strategy of democratic overidentification and how they have taken advantage of the use of humor, and, in particular, a certain humorous parody style (stiob), theorized by anthropologists Yurchak and Boyer. From the results of this analysis, I will move to discuss how the indignados have reopened the old “democratic issue” at the
same time they rose up, against to the sad passions cultivated on stage of the crisis, as a kind of katechon.
